AMC: Well, Mad Men Isn’t Going Anywhere (John Hamm Signs Three Year Deal)

For those of you that were worried that you might be losing your beloved AMC hit, Mad Men, fear not because it’s sticking around for quite some time.  THR has reported that John Hamm, who plays Don Draper on the series, has signed a deal for three years with Lionsgate TV, assuring that Matthew Weiner’s third-year option will be picked up and and the show will complete its run after seven seasons.  For the fans that are unaware, it was Weiner’s protracted contract negotiations that delayed production of season five, pushing it back to March 2012, a year and a half after the end of season four.  We’re actually thrilled about the delay because we have never seen one episode of this show and we’ve been kicking ourselves over it.  Now we can catch up.  Mad Men is the only cable series to ever win the Emmy for best Best Dramatic Series.

  1. Marcel says:

Great show! Blind buy for me 2 years back, bought the first 2 seasons and was hooked instantly.
    Highly anticipating the fifth season.

    • It’s actually next on my list. I watched the pilot on Netflix a month ago… and then I discovered Breaking Bad and became absolutely hooked on that show (now, officially one of my favorite shows of all time). Going to get back into it, shortly.

  2. Marcel says:

That’s one I have to dive in to, Breaking Bad. I only hear good things of it.

  3. It’s the best show currently on television. I watched all four seasons over the course of four days. I couldn’t stop watching it. You will love it.

  4. Marcel says:

4 seasons in 4 days! Oh wow!

  5. Yeah, it’s that good, but you do have to keep in mind that the first season was only like six episodes. 🙂

But, yeah, I was watching everywhere I went on the Netflix app for the iPhone, iPad and on the PS3. Could not stop watching it. Grocery shopping, Halloween carnivals with the kids, driving… didn’t matter.
